DECEMBER 18TH, 2017

As you might expect from a golden jubilee year, we have marked 2017 with various milestones. No less than five new yachts have been launched and we’ve made brisk progress on various upcoming models and deliveries. Add in the December opening of our new production facility and 2017 has seen all the foundations put in place for a bold future expansion.

MAJOR DELIVERIES IN 2017

One of the most stunning launches of the past year was the fast displacement Anemeli. Showcasing the vision and ideas of a highly experienced owner, this 27-metre all-aluminium yacht also featured interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot and naval architecture by Jaron Ginton. Her stylish silver metallic colour hull has already won Anemeli many admirers, while her exceptionally spacious and well-equipped interior has been a pleasure to all who come aboard.

The 23-metre Flybridge Valencia features an exterior we designed in-house, which includes a modern, curvaceous shape requested directly by the owner and a classical interior by Guido de Groot Design. Intended primarily to sail the Baltic region, she features lots of comfortable indoor as well as outdoor spaces.

Also intended for the Baltic, the 26-metre Raised Pilothouse Forum has a folding mast that minimises her vertical clearance. She boasts an exterior by Guido de Groot and an interior by the owner’s own architect, providing a wealth of entertainment spaces and options.

Another striking delivery in 2017 was a 25-metre oceangoing Explorer characterised by interior and exterior design by Guido de Groot Design and naval architecture by Ginton Naval Architects. This full-displacement yacht with aluminium hull provides a substantial range and resistance to the harshest conditions.

NEW PRODUCTION HALL

We rounded off the year with the commissioning of our new production hall in December. Measuring 42 x 36 x 14 metres, the facility will enable us to build motoryachts exceeding 40 metres in length and sporting up to three decks. We have already integrated the new hall into our production schedule and plan to use it for three major projects in the coming months.

EXCITING TIMES AHEAD

The first yachts from our revolutionary BeachClub range will see the light of day in 2018. First developed last year with the designer Cor D. Rover and Ginton Naval Architects, this cool new concept for midsize motoryachts made entirely in aluminium involves a pioneering engine placement and layout that provides owners with an unprecedented amount of indoor and outdoor space.

While the patent for this solution is still pending, the first BeachClub 600 and BeachClub 660 will be launched in 2018. Next year will also see the delivery of a 23-metre Flybridge and 26-metre Raised Pilothouse.

As in previous years, Van der Valk plans to attend or organise several major exhibitions and events in 2018. These will definitely include boot Dusseldorf from 20 to 28 January, our own Experience Event on 22 to 25 March and the Cannes Yachting Festival from 11 to 16 September. We are also almost certainly going to take part in the Moscow Boat Show from 14 to 18 February.
