Van der Valk recently launched the 23-metre Flybridge Valencia, a wonderful example of our new Flybridge line which sports an exterior designed in house. “Valencia was created for a highly involved owner,” explains our marketing manager Yoeri Bijker. “As with all such bespoke creations, her calibre is reflected in a wealth of fine details.”
Valencia’s elegant flybridge is smart and practical, and we gave her superstructure a modern, curved shape requested explicitly by the owners. Her steering position forward on the centreline is flanked by ample seating areas to port and starboard. The aft section is home to a dinghy, while the flybridge holds a WaveRunner with a dedicated crane. We have fitted Valencia with lots of advanced equipment, including a Seakeeper 26 stabilizer, twin 26-kilowatt generators and triple Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines. Other handy features include a night vision camera and a hydraulic tender platform.
INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE
Signed Guido de Groot, Valencia’s classical cherrywood interior is characterised by gorgeous highlights in mahogany and other delightful materials, fabrics and leather upholstery. Blue & white accents and brass details make for a traditional nautical interior colour scheme, echoing the wishes of the owner, who was highly involved in the design.
The main deck has all the classical options for outdoor enjoyment, including a dining section aft and a lounging area forward. Valencia was built to sail mainly in the Baltic, however, and therefore also has a surprising amount of incredibly comfortable indoor spaces. The large U-shaped settee in the saloon is adjacent to a widescreen TV and extends electrically to form a fun lounge nest. The saloon transitions directly into a dinette and semi-separated L-shaped galley, while the secluded indoor steering station with two helm seats is located further forward.
CHALKING UP ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Coming down into the lower deck, one first encounters a den with two workstations and lots of communications equipment, as well as other mod cons such as two large refrigerators and a washing machine/dryer. This area links directly to the VIP cabin in the forepeak and the lower deck hallway aft. The hallway leads to the two-berth guest cabin and a spacious bathroom with sauna. All the way aft, the master suite covers 5.6 metres of the beam and boasts an ensuite bathroom. Since Valencia is owner-operated, she has no crew cabins.
Valencia is one of Van der Valk’s latest exploits in our 50th jubilee year, which has already seen us chalk up numerous accomplishments. Other recent deliveries during 2017 included the 26-metre Raised Pilothouse Forum and the impressive Anemeli. Our order portfolio remains well-filled, and later this year we will launch the eagerly awaited first new BeachClub.
