S.Y. Malcolm Miller was built in 1967 by John Lewis and Sons in Aberdeen for use by the Sail Training Association. Half of her construction cost was donated by Sir James Miller, and she was named in honour of Sir Miller’s deceased son.
In 2000, she was sold and converted to a private pleasure yacht and sailed across the Atlantic twice.
In 2012 her current owner bought her and had her completely refitted.
She has been relaunched in 2014.
In 2016-2017, she crossed the Atlantic two more times and participated in the 2017 Tall Ship Races.
